Third Guido Di Tella Memorial Lecture

22 March 2016

The Latin American Centre and St Antony's College are delighted to announce the third Guido Di Tella Memorial Lecture on Friday 13 May, to be held at 5pm in the InvestCorp Building's lecture theatre.

Guido Di Tella served as Argentina’s Foreign Minister for nearly a decade. Prior to that, he was a long-time associate of the College and the Latin American Centre, where he spent the years after the 1976 military coup. He had a lifetime commitment to both public and academic life. The memorial series is intended to remember Guido, to contribute to the understanding of the region’s complexities, and to highlight the role that the College has played in enhancing knowledge about the region.

The Guido Di Tella memorial event of this academic year offers a lecture by Dr Juan Alberto Fuentes Knight, former Minister of Finance of Guatemala. Dr Fuentes Knight, who also worked at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean in Santiago and is currently chair of Oxfam International, will talk about the captive state in Latin America.
