What are fellow Antonians doing?

The Seven Peaks Challenge - Maxim Bouev has had another success towards his goal to plant the St Antony’s flag on the highest summits of each of the seven continents. He writes "My expedition was success and I summitted Mount Denali on May 29 at 18:30 Alaska time. That was by far the most strenuous adventure in my experience so far, however it all went very smoothly due to a superb organisation and planning by my American guides. I attach some pictures including the one with St Antony's flag on the summit. In it the flag is raised by me and Paul Ivaska, the leader of expedition from the American Alpine Institute."

Mongol Rally 2008 - Thomas Hedegard, who started his MPhil in October, spent summer 2008 driving from London to Mongolia to raise money for Mercy Corps. Read the team's blog or see their flyer for further details.

Dr David Tsui (Xu Zerong), a publisher and academic who studied at St Antony's from 1989, has been imprisoned in China since June 2000. In a verdict handed down in early 2002 he was sentenced to thirteen years' imprisonment. St Antony's was very pleased to learn of a further sentence reduction of 10 months in April 2008. The College will continue to maintain its benevolent interest in the welfare of Dr Tsui.
