Call for Applications - Free Speech Debate

25 October 2017

The Free Speech Debate project, led by Professor Timothy Garton Ash, is looking to recruit graduate research assistants. The project aims to promote civil, transcultural debate about issues relating to freedom of expression around the world. The project is centred around the freespeechdebate.com website, which is available in 13 languages. Please have a look at the website to learn more about the project.
In addition to native English speakers, we are looking to recruit native speakers of: Spanish, French, German, Russian, Hindi, Urdu, Farsi, Turkish, Arabic, Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese to work on translation of the new generation of content on the site in relation to those language areas. For those interested, there is also scope to contribute to the project in other ways, such as research, opportunities to write for the site, online editing, videography and video editing, and participation in Free Speech Debate events. We are also looking for individuals with experience and interest in social media promotion and journalism.
Please send a covering email and your CV to tga.pa@sant.ox.ac.uk. We would like research assistants to be based in Oxford for most of the academic year. The rate of pay is £12.50/hour. Please be in touch if you have any questions. Please send your applications by Monday, 13 November.
