Wireless Networking

The eduroam network is for the use of members of the University of Oxford, and other participating Universities. The OWL network is primarily for conference guests and other visitors. Conference guests and other visitors should ask the Lodge for an OWL Visitor account.

How to connect - Eduroam

  1. Connect to OWL, open a browser and go to https://register.it.ox.ac.uk/ to register for a Remote Access Account
  2. Stay on OWL, go to https://cat.eduroam.org/ click on the 'download your eduroam installer' button and select 'University of Oxford' as your institution. Download and run the configuration tool for your platform. Note: The eduroam configurator is currently available for Windows, Apple and Linux. If you have an Android or other device, skip the configuration tool step and connect directly to eduroam. For help, see http://help.it.ox.ac.uk/network/wireless/services/eduroam/
  3. When prompted for a username and password, enter your usename followed by @ox.ac.uk e.g. sant1234@ox.ac.uk. Remember, the password for eduroam is the Remote Access password
  4. Disconnect from the OWL network and connect to the eduroam network.

How to connect - OWL

The OWL network is unencrypted intended for conference guests and visitors. You will be prompted for a visitor username and password when you open a web browser.
