The computer room in the main building has returned to 24 hour access.

8 Apr 2008: Access to, and hours of Computer Room

Until further notice, the Computer room will close at 11.00pm, re-opening at 5.00am the following day. Between these times, as at all other times, an alternative computer and printing facility has been established in the Seminar Room (ex Fitness Room) in the Founder's Building, for use by Members of College (see note of 28 March, below)

In order to aid the safe removal from site of asbestos by the specialist contractors, betwen approximately 8.30 and 9.00am, Monday to Friday, access to the Computer Room via the stairs from the ground floor corridor will not be available. Persons using the Computer Room at this time will be instructed to either leave the Computer Room just before the removal commences, or to remain in the Room until the removal has been effected - approximately 30 minutes.

Access to the Computer Room via the Garden Door will continue to be suspended until the end of the project, around the end of September/start of October

31 Mar 2008: Project Delay

The start of the Russian Library Refurbishment project has been delayed slightly to allow for the reporting (to the Health and Safety Executive) and removal (by specialist contractors) of small amounts of asbestos which were discovered when the basement was cleared in preparation for the work.

This slight delay, which should not affect the completion date, means that the work will not start in earnest until the week commencing 28th April, with the noisy work starting around 30th and lasting for about 3 or 4 weeks - up until around 4th or 5th Week of Trinity Term.

28 Mar 2008: IT Facilites in Founders

In anticipation of disruption affecting the computer room, four of the computer room PCs and one laser printer have been relocated to the seminar room in block D of the Founders Building.  The plan is to keep this room open as an alternative workspace until the end of the Russian Library Project.  Ray Allen
