Estelle Blyth Photo Gallery: Palestine First World War

Blyth-PA1-995-006

These photographs of Palestine during the First World War were taken by Khalil Raad. After the war he sent these photographs to Estelle Blyth (a daughter of Bishop Blyth) through another friend, David Dadis, who wrote captions on the back of the photographs.

'David Dadis, House master at St George's School Jerusalem, remained at Bishop's House after Bishop Blyth's departure (21 July 1914) until Jerusalem was taken. The safety of the Church and buildings, known as 'St George's' was due to him in no small degree' (from a caption on PA-1-995-013).

For other First World War photographs by Khalil Raad please see the Alan Saunders Photo Gallery
