Sir George Rendel Photo Gallery: Saudi Arabia, 1937

The images in this gallery are from the Sir George Rendel Collection GB165-0238 and show his visit to Saudi Arabia in 1937 with photographs of Hofuf, Riyadh, Amir Saud and his sons, Badia Palace, Dareyah, Duwadmi, Qai'iya and the Shafa hills. There are 185 photographs in the Rendel Album. More photographs will be added to this online gallery in due course.

Sir George Rendel was a diplomat who was head of the Eastern Department in the Foreign Office during 1930-1938.

The captions are taken from a list that accompanied the album. Copyright in the Rendel photographs was kindly assigned to the Archive by Miss Rendel in 2000.
