New Middle East Centre Softbridge Building

In October 2011 the Governing Body agreed to go to tender for the new Middle East Centre building, designed by Zaha Hadid. The building, to be clad in stainless steel, will provide a new library, archive and lecture theatre for the Middle East Centre.

In September 2008 Oxford City Council granted planning permission for the Middle East Centre's new building, the Softbridge. See reports in The Architects' Journal and The Oxford Times.

It was designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid.
