An evening to mark the publication of THE PENGUIN BOOK OF RUSSIAN POETRY, edited by Robert Chandler, Boris Dralyuk and Irina Mashinski.

 

Thursday March 19, 5.30-7 pm in the Nissan Lecture Theatre, St Antony's; to be followed by drinks.

 

The evening will include poems by Velimir Khlebnikov, Vladimir Mayakovsky, Lev Ozerov and Boris Slutsky.  Translators / readers will include Stephen Capus, Robert Chandler, Boris Dralyuk, Irina Mashinski, Gerry Smith, and James Womack.

 

This is the first Penguin anthology of Russian verse since Dmitri Obolensky’s volume of 1962.
