The short film format has been an incubator for Taiwan’s filmmaking talents, who have won international acclaim since 1989. It is an extremely vibrant form that allows filmmakers to focus their attention on one specific subject or particular technique. The 5 short films bring to the viewers a number of unique perspectives on the young people of Taiwan.

Dr Rawnsley is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Communications Studies, University of Leeds, and the co-editor of Global Chinese Cinema: The Culture and Politics of ‘Hero’ (with Professor Gary Rawnsley, Routledge, 2010).
