Veselin Vačkov is a Bulgarian-born media executive and journalist. Since 2000 he has been managing editor of the Czech daily newspaper Lidove noviny. He graduated from English, Czech Studies and Slavic Studies at Charles University in Prague, and is an alumnus of Jesus College, Oxford, where he studied computational linguistics from 1995-1996. In his parallel academic career his research concentrates on the language of mass media.
