By kind invitation of the University of Oxford Islamic Society, Tariq Ramadan will present the first of a series of events on Islam and Liberation: In an era of imperialism, patriarchy, climate change and global inequality, what can Islam and Muslims contribute to the project of liberation – both of the self and of society?  Introduced by the University's Islamic Society President Younes Saidani, Ramadan will explore the context and the background of the concept of liberation in Islam, and introduce ways in which liberation can be practised not only within the faith, but as part of a positive Islamic contribution to the issues facing the global community. All are welcome - 45minute lecture, followed by Q&A session.
