50th Anniversary ![]() 2003 saw the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre (formerly the Russian and East European Centre). To begin the year with a bang, a major conference on Russia and Europe, organised by the Centre, was an integral part of Antonians' Weekend 2003. Most of the presentations (whether in plenary sessions or in parallel sessions on politics and international relations; the economy; history; and culture) were by former members of the College. The conference is reported in full below. To coincide with this anniversary, the Centre has launched a major fundraising campaign to endow the Centre and to remodel the library. Full details of this can be seen by clicking here. Conference on Russia and EuropePROGRAMMEFriday 4 JulyKeynote address: Strobe Talbott,
