Hilary Term 2012 Monday 5 March, 17:00 The Hour of Europe: Western powers and the break-up of Yugoslavia Josip Glaurdić (Clare College, Cambridge) Josip Glaurdić is a Junior Research Fellow in Political Science at Clare College, University of Cambridge. His work concentrates on the policies of the European Union and the United States in the Balkans, as well as on the politics and economics of the disintegrative and re-integrative processes in that region. His first book, The Hour of Europe: Western Powers and the Break-up of Yugoslavia (Yale University Press, 2011), is an extensive analysis of the policies of the major Western powers toward the former Yugoslav region in the period between 1987 and 1992.
