Degree ceremonies for 2012In order for an official degree certificate to be produced you must have your degree conferred either in person or in absentia at an official Degree Ceremony. Please note that Oxford University only allows students to have each level of degree conferred (in person or in absentia) once. Those who wish to graduate in absentia may do so at any degree day offered by the University. Please contact Alison Winstone in the College Bursary for information. The Ceremony dates for 2012 are Sat 14 July at 11.00am - Fully Booked Sat 28 July at 11.00am - Fully Booked Frid 21 September at 11.00am - Fully Booked Sat 3 November at 11.00am - Fully Booked To book a place please complete the application form and return it to Alison Winstone in the College Bursary. Bookings are on a first come-first served basis. Graduation ceremonies for 2012 will be held at the Sheldonian Theatre Oxford. Guest allocation for the ceremony is two per graduand. A lunch will be held at the College after the Ceremony where the guest allocation is three per graduand. It is recommended that children under the age of seven do not attend the ceremony but if graduands do wish to bring children, the parent/guardian should try and sit near an exit so that they may leave quickly and quietly should the child get restless. Please also note that the child will need their own ticket unless they will be sitting on their parent/guardian’s lap. You must be sure that you will have your results at least two weeks before your graduation date. It is your responsibililty to check this with your Department. The College will not be liable for any losses incurred as a result of your having to withdraw from the ceremony for this reason. Leave to Supplicate for research students only must have been granted by the Board. A hardbound copy of the thesis, extract and all other GSO paperwork must have been submitted to the Examination Schools: GSO Forms or confirmation of the taught course result must have been notified to you.
