St Antony's takes part in Oxford Open Doors 2022
St Antony's is delighted to be taking part in the Oxford Preservation Trust's Open Doors 2022
We look forward to welcoming members of the public on Saturday, 10 September, from 9.00am to 3.00pm
Both the Hilda Besse and Investcorp building will be open for public viewing
The Hilda Besse Building is the literal and metaphorical heart of the college. The Grade II listed building is home to key social and academic spaces, including the dining hall, senior and junior common rooms, and the Buttery. As a vital part of everyday life at St Antony’s College, the Hilda Besse has been in near continual use since its completion in 1970, only closing for 18 months to allow for its extensive refurbishment completed in December 2020.

The Investcorp Building is an iconic extension to the Middle East Centre, where a radical vision meets a pragmatic solution. Beyond its practical function, it has created a distinctive landmark on Oxford’s architectural landscape. A sinuous, softly reflective steel-clad form, seemingly floating, suspended between its Victorian and Edwardian neighbours. – BAM
