1990s Gaudy September 2023
On a late summer weekend in September, more than 200 Antonians from the '90s cohort of students returned to St Antony's to reconnect with peers and professors and take a trip back down memory lane.
The programme for the weekend included a formal dinner with speeches by the First Lady of Iceland, Eliza Reid (MSt Modern History, 1998), Dr João Cravinho (DPhil International Relations, 1991) Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dr Jessica Hallett (DPhil Oriental Studies, 1988) Senior Curator, Middle East and Head of Research at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon; a panel discussion with Emeritus Fellows, Margaret MacMillan, Archie Brown, Rosemary Foot, and Avi Shlaim; and a concert given by virtuoso violinist, Joji Hattori (SAM Social Anthropology, 1994).
It was a wonderful weekend, full of love. I felt a true feeling of euphoria, which I realised reminded me of the first week I was here in 1996. Guido Dolara (MPhil European Politics and Society, 1996)
