Alumni reunion in Hong Kong

Date: Wednesday 17 April 2024

It is a pleasure to let you know about an Antonian get-together that we are planning to organise in Hong Kong on Wednesday evening 17 April 2024.

Professor Roger Goodman CBE, Warden of St Antony’s College, Nissan Professor of Modern Japanese Studies, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford will be in attendance.

We are also delighted and grateful to share that Adrian Fu has agreed to give a short talk at the event about the history of Macau, Hong Kong, and China during the warlord years. He was a Senior Associate Member at St Antony’s in the late 90s and he is currently a Foundation Fellow.

Adrian is the Chief Executive of the family-owned Hong Kong based real estate and asset management KHI Holdings.  In 2007, Adrian founded the Fu Tak Iam Foundation in the hope to pass on his grandfather’s legacy of giving to future generations. To achieve its mission, the Foundation supports impactful projects of non-profits in Hong Kong, China and Macau.

In January 2019, Adrian Fu published a biography of his grandfather, Fu Tak Iam, whose company held the gambling franchise in Macao between 1937 and 1961, and who laid the foundation for his family’s business empire today.

You can find Adrian’s full profile on the website of St Antony’s by following this link.

We would be grateful if you could let us know by completing the Microsoft Form below before 1 March whether you are planning to attend. Once we have a sense of numbers, we will provide details of the location.
