Programme on Modern Burmese Studies Travel Grants 2017

The Programme on Modern Burmese Studies at St Antony’s College is accepting applications to support travel for field work or conference presentations in Myanmar or related to Burmese Studies.

The fund will support work taking place during the remainder of calendar year 2017 up to a maximum of £600. Eligible expenses include transportation, accommodation, conference fees, or other costs directly related to research.

Successful applicants will be required to submit receipts for all expenses, to be reimbursed after the travel or research has been completed. Any students or faculty at the University of Oxford are eligible to apply for funding, although the research or travel must take place while employed by the University or enrolled in a degree programme.

A full application must include this completed form and a current CV. Please list only the name and email of an academic reference; a letter is not required. Successful applicants will be notified within three weeks of the closing date. Late and/or incomplete applications will not be considered.

Applications should be emailed to Mrs Edit Greenhill, Modern Burmese Studies Administrator at by 5 p.m. on Friday of 8th week, March 10th 2017.

Successful applicants should be prepared to submit a short report in the form of a post on the Tea Circle, the blog run by the Modern Burmese Studies Programme.
