The second SEESOX Hellenic Advisory Board meeting takes place in Athens
The Hellenic Advisory Board met in Athens on 23 October, under the Chairmanship of Nikolaos Karamouzis. This was the second meeting of the Board, and the first in Athens. By the kind invitation of the Onassis Foundation, and Antonis Papadimitriou personally, it took place in the Onassis Library. SEESOX briefed the Board on Greek studies in Oxford, and the role of SEESOX in the study of contemporary Greece; and on the progress of the Greek Diaspora Project. This led to a general discussion on the development and future of the Project, with many ideas for future collaboration and synergies with other actors. The Board agreed that SEESOX is well-placed to take a central role in coordinating efforts and activities related to the diaspora, and act as a hub between diaspora initiatives. The Director of SEESOX, Othon Anastasakis, said that all these very useful recommendations will be followed up.
The next meeting of the Board will take place in Oxford in 2019.
