College Accommodation for New Students

Deadline for applying for College accommodation

To apply for College accommodation, please complete and return your accommodation form to the Registry Administrator ( by 11:59pm GMT on 01/Jul/2020. The form can be found in your College offer pack.

Rooms will be allocated in mid-late July, and the Accommodation team will email successful students information about the room they have been offered between Monday 27 - Friday 31 July 2020. Applicants should check their emails regularly and be prepared to respond quickly, as there is usually a waiting list for rooms.

It is possible to apply for College accommodation after the deadline, but availability cannot be guaranteed.

Students intending to apply for College accommodation should read below a sample version of the Accommodation Agreement (Licence to Occupy) and the College Handbook.

In light of the current COVID-19 pandamic, please be aware of Clause 1.11 (1.11.1 & 1.11.2) in the Accommodation Agreement:

1.11 All provisions within this agreement will be governed by the College’s interpretation of the latest UK Government guidance relating to COVID-19. The College may be required to implement adjustments to provision as control measures; these will not be viewed as a reduction of service. These measures may include, but are not limited to:

1.11.1 restricting or preventing access to common parts of its estate, including shared common space, kitchens and grounds contained within any licensed accommodation.

1.11.2 redeploying and re-provisioning any cleaning services.

How we allocate College accommodation

If we receive more applications than there are rooms available, the College will allocate rooms in the following order of priorities:

  1. Students with a disability that impacts on their living needs (medical evidence is required)
  2. Students awarded a St Antony's College scholarship
  3. Students who are not ordinarily resident in the UK and have not studied at a UK university in the 2019-20 academic year.

Students meeting priority 1 are guaranteed a room for the duration of their course. Students meeting priority 2 are guaranteed a room for the 2020-21 academic year. College accommodation is not guaranteed for students who do not meet the criteria for priorities 1 and/or 2 in the accommodation ballot and it would be advisable to consider alternative options early in case your application is unsuccessful.

Note that an application may only be made for a single room or for a flat (apartment)/studio flat/double room, but not for both types.

The College does its best to assign accommodation according to an applicant's preference, but available options are limited by capacity. If more of any type or grade of accommodation is requested than is available, a ballot will be held. If an applicant's first choice of room is not available, they may be offered an alternative type or grade of room.

Mail- Please note that personal post/mail for College residents must be sent to the main College address, which is: St Antony's College, Woodstock Road, Oxford OX2 6JF, UK.
