In works such as American Colonies: The Settling of North America and his recent The Civil War of 1812: American Citizens, British Subjects, Irish Rebels, & Indian Allies. Professor Taylor looks across present-day borders to explore the transnational historical processes that shaped the development of the United States, Canada, and the rest of North America. His presentation examined slavery in the Chesapeake region during the War of 1812.
