Dr Cécile Laborde is Reader in Political Theory and Director of the MA in Legal and Political Theory at the UCL Department of Political Science. Her principal research interests are in the history of political ideas and contemporary political philosophy, both Anglo-American and European. Her most recent books are Republicanism and Political Theory (co-edited with John Maynor) (Oxford Blackwell 2007) and Critical Republicanism. The Hijab Controversy and Political Philosophy (Oxford Political Theory series, OUP, 2008)
