Film screening - Perm-36: Reflexion
Oxford Perm Association Film Screening. Sergei Kachkin, a Russian documentary film maker, now working in Moscow but originally from Perm, will be introducing and showing his film, Perm-36: Reflexion (2016) in the Nissan Theatre at St Antony’s College from 5p.m.to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, 12th February.
This film, about the former Gulag prison in Perm Region, now a public Museum, includes interviews with former prisoners and reflects on both Soviet and modern Russian attitudes.
The screening is organised jointly by the Oxford Perm Association and the St Antony’s Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre and is free to the public. Refreshments will be served in the Nissan Foyer after the screening.
