Dawn Alexandrea Berry is a Visiting Academic at St Antony's College, Oxford. Her research interests include the United States and the World, Arctic History and Geopolitics, British Empire and politics, transnational and international history, indigenous peoples, and mining history. She is currently co-editing a volume on the governance of the North American Arctic. In this presentation, she will examine the effects of three moments of global conflict - the First World War, the Second World War, and the Cold War - on the political development of Greenland, and explore the island's position in, and relationship to, North America and the wider world over the 20th century.
