About the speaker:

Christopher de Bellaigue is an author, broadcaster and journalist. In 2007/8, he held the Alistair Horne visiting fellowship at St Antony's. His latest book, The Islamic Enlightenment, described by Orhan Pamuk as 'brilliant,' and as 'a blow...for common humanity' by Justin Marozzi in the Sunday Times, has been shortlisted for the Baillie Gifford Prize for non-fiction and longlisted for the Cundill Prize for History.
