Captain Aqeel Naqvi is Visiting Research Fellow for South Asia (Strategic Affairs) at the IISS. He is the Senior Deputy Director, Arms Control and Disarmament Affairs (ACDA) Branch of the Strategic Plans Division (SPD), Pakistan. Captain Naqvi has previously served in various Command & Staff appointments in the Pakistan Navy, including as Directing Staff at the Pakistan Navy War College. He is a naval aviator, and has flown a number of aircraft including the Sea King Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) helicopter.
