Lord Peter Ricketts was a British diplomat for 40 years. His three last jobs were Permanent Secretary at the Foreign Office, National Security Adviser, and finally Ambassador to France. After retiring in 2016, Peter was appointed as a Cross-bench (non-political) member of the House of Lords. He is also a Visiting Professor at King’s College London.
