Eric Chaney is Associate Professor of Economic History at the University of Oxford. Prior to moving to Oxford, he was associate professor in the Harvard Economics Department. His research focuses on the economic history and long-run development of the Islamic world and Western Europe and has been published in leading journals in economics and political science. He has held fellowships at the Institute for Advanced Study (Princeton) and CASBS (Stanford).
