Martín Carrizosa is a founding partner of Philippi, Prietocarrizosa, Ferrero DU & Uría, a leading latin american law firm with offices in Colombia, Chile and Perú. He focuses his practice on competition and antitrust law, cross-border transactions and international investments.

He has been an Economic and International Affairs Advisor to the President of Colombia (1991-1994); Chief of Staff of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C. (1994-1996); Chairman, Legal Advisor and board member of AMCHAM Colombia on several occasions; board member of the World Law Group; and professor of civil law and contracts at the Universidad de los Andes and the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia.

Martín serves in the boards of Scotiabank Colpatria, a commercial bank; LarraínVial Colombia, a broker dealer; Continental Gold, a Canadian gold mining company; as well as in the boards of non-profit organizations such as the Universidad de los Andes, a leading private university, and the Fundación Ideas para la PAZ (FIP), a think tank.  He has also been a board member of Procolombia, Colombia’s official trade and investment promotion agency; Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá; and Chairman of the Pacific Alliance Business Council (CEAP). Appointed by the Government of Colombia, acts as one of four Colombian arbitrators at the World Bank’s Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID); and participates in the Strategic Committee Colombia-France, created by the governments to deepen the business and economic relations between the two countries.

He is an active member of both the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO); the Chief Executives’ Organization (CEO); and the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).”
