Access to the Library
Access to the Library
To access the Library, you need to book a reading session in advance.
The Library offers two 2-hour reading sessions, from 9.30-11.30 and from 2-4pm, Monday to Friday.
Please note, the MEC Library is currently open ONLY to members of the Oxford University (see St Antony's College Libraries and Archives Policy on Access during the Covid-19 pandemic for further details).
However, the Library will endeavour to provide external readers with remote support where possible. Please contact the Library to enquire.
Book your reading session here
The Middle East Centre Library is located at:
The Investcorp Building
St Antony's College
68 Woodstock Road
Oxford OX2 6JF
Sessions will be released and can be booked up to 7 days in advance; new sessions will become available with time and when reservations are cancelled. If you encounter difficulties with the booking pages, please reload (use “Ctrl + Shift + R” to refresh the local cache) and try again. If problems persist, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for help.
A few things to remember:
A separate booking must be made for each individual.
Accurate contact details (the full name and email address of each individual) must be provided; please do not book places for others under your own name
You may arrive late (individuals will be admitted after the start of their reserved session), but please do not come too early, and leave before or promptly after your session ends.
You may make appointments up to seven days in advance and may book multiple sessions during the week. However, please be considerate of the needs of others and the limited capacity of the Library. Please do not book more visits than necessary, use electronic resources where they are available, and be sure to cancel your booking(s) if your circumstances/requirements change.
Each member must use their own University card to access the Library. If you have problems accessing the Investcorp building or the MEC library, ask staff for help, or call 01865 284764.
Wear face coverings in the Library (unless exempt under government guidelines).
Observe social distancing rules by remaining 2 metres from others at all times.
Cleanse your hands before entering the library (sanitizer is available from dispensers at the door), and wipe tables and chair arms before and after use with the cleaning products provided.
Do not come to the library if you are displaying any of the main symptoms of Covid-19 (high temperature, continuous cough, loss of smell or taste).
Office hours are Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm, and on Friday from 9am to 4.30pm
