Wireless Networking

There are currently two wireless networks within the college, ‘eduroam’ for members of the University of Oxford and OWL for conference guests and other visitors.

Visitors who would like to access OWL please ask the Lodge for an OWL account.

Connecting to Eduroam

Please note that you will need to have activated your SSO account in order to register for a remote access account. For further information on activating your SSO please see the ‘User Accounts’ page.

  1. Connect to OWL. Open a browser, go to: https://register.it.ox.ac.uk/ log in with your SSO and choose ‘Register for a Remote Access Account’.
    (Please note it usually takes around 15 minutes for your account to be activated)
  2. Whilst still connected to OWL, go to https://cat.eduroam.org/ click on the button to ‘download your eduroam installer’, select ‘University of Oxford’ as your institution and download the installer.
  3. Run the configuration tool for your platform and when prompted for your username please remember to the add ‘@OX.AC.UK’ for example ‘sant1234@OX.AC.UK
  4. Disconnect and forget the OWL network (https://help.it.ox.ac.uk/helpcentre/howto/remove-wireless-network) and then connect to eduroam.

Connecting to OWL

Once connected to OWL the login page should open on your device. If the login page does not appear please open a web browser window and attempt to open any web page and you will be automatically redirected to the login page.

From here enter your credentials for your OWL account, you will then be asked to read and accept the terms and conditions to use the service.
