Elizabeth Shen is a futurist with a focus on emerging technologies and AI ethics.
As Visiting Professor at Fudan University’s School of Management, Elizabeth’s loci of interests include US-China relations, behavioral economics, sustainability, and global priorities.
Most recently, she was Associate Director of Kairos Future’s Shanghai office, where she created future scenarios for clients in China and around the world.
After graduating from Columbia University, she worked for the Obama Administration under the White House Office of Public Engagement and Council on Women and Girls.
Elizabeth conducted research on migrant workers and their families in the Philippines as a Fulbright scholar. She completed her MSc in Contemporary Chinese Studies, with a focus on elite-level politics, at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford.
Elizabeth is a member of the Journal of Politics of Technology and Sustainability’s Editorial Board. She presented her most recent research paper on AI and its impact on China’s economy at the Asia Pacific Futures Network Virtual Conference.
Passionate about impactful engagement, Elizabeth actively serves as a mentor and resource to young people in China.
