Steven S K Kwok

Steven S K Kwok read for an MPhil in European Politics & Society/MLitt in Politics at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford and matriculated in 1995.

For the University of Oxford, Steven has acted as Liaison Officer for China (Hong Kong) at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford since September 2021. He also acted as the last Country Champion (Hong Kong) for the Oxford Education Society of the University of Oxford Department of Education from 2014-2017.

Steven is keen to organise two or more events each year for fellow Antonians in Hong Kong/China/Taiwan. In 2023, he organised two Antonian dinners, two smaller gatherings, and a private gathering. In 2024, Steven orchestrated an alumni event for 33 alumni, which both the College’s Warden and Development Director attended and both praised as ‘a very successful alumni event for the College’ on 17 April, and also a dinner for six attendees on 22 August. In 2025, Steven organised a Cosy Winter Dinner for nine attendees, including two from two other Oxford Colleges, on 25 January, and also a Summer Dinner for 11 attendees, including six from six other Oxford Colleges, on 15 August.

In 2026, to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of our beloved alma mater, Steven will pull together a series of events for fellow Antonians: a dinner on 7 February, a museum visit and then a dinner on the Anniversary Day of 20 June, and finally, an amazing summer event in late August.

With an MA in Applied Linguistics (Hong Kong), a master’s degree in business and management (Australia), an MA in Political Science (USA), a Trinity College London Certificate in TESOL (UK), postgraduate education at Columbia University (USA) and at New York University (USA), German language qualifications from Goethe-Institut, Berlin (Germany) and Middlebury College Language Schools (USA), and an Oxford University postgraduate education (UK), Steven is an experienced, professional, and dedicated Academic/Business/Workplace English lecturer, IELTS trainer, and Exam and Academic Skills coach since 2011, and also a seasoned lecturer in Business and Management, General Education, and Social Sciences since 2003, in Hong Kong.

Steven has also worked as a research manager/officer at the Hong Kong SAR Government, The University of Hong Kong, CUHK School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and former Hong Kong Institute of Education. In addition, he has worked as an Executive Officer (Internationalisation) at PolyU School of Design, Communications Manager, Project Officer, and Education Counsellor all at the tertiary level.

For the School of Business at Woxsen University, India, Steven has worked as an Adjunct Professor, conducting research, consultancy, projects, and teaching courses since July 2022.

For another one of his alma maters, The New School, in New York City, USA, Steven is the Founder of The New School/Parsons School of Design Alumni Community in Hong Kong and also the founding chair of The New School/Parsons School of Design Alumni Community Council in Hong Kong from 2022-23. (Parsons School of Design is the best design school in the USA and no. 3 in the world.)

Steven has studied and lived in New York City, Oxford, London, Berlin, and his hometown of Hong Kong.
