Alexandra Gallo wins award from American Public Health Association

In November, St Antony’s student Alexandra Gallo (MPP, 2024) was presented with Rebecca A. Head Award for Environmental Health from the American Public Health Association (APHA). Alex won the award in recognition of her work in the fields of science, policy and environmental justice. Notably, whilst working for the US Environmental Protection Agency, she led the policy design and direction of the Community Change Grants (CCG), a $2bn environmental justice programme.

Alex comments that she received ‘great feedback’ on her winner’s speech and had the opportunity to ‘connect with people advancing public health and climate work from states all across the nation’.

APHA is the national organisation for all public health professionals in the United States of America.
