Dr Giovanni Cadioli – new book

REES/RESC alumnus Dr Giovanni Cadioli (University of Padova) has published a new book based on his DPhil research at St Antony’s. Entitled Il pianificatore. Economia, politica e potere in URSS (The Planner: Economics, Politics and Power in the USSR) this book reconstructs the political biography of Voznesenskii, while offering a glimpse into the political, economic and ideological context of the time. His exemplary parable sheds light on the complex dynamics of power in Stalin’s USSR and helps us understand the evolution of the Soviet system up to Gorbachev’s perestroika, which marked its definitive decline.
