European Studies Centre renews partnership with WZB

The European Studies Centre is delighted to continue its long-standing partnership with the WZB Berlin Social Science Center through the renewal of our academic exchange programme.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Irene Pañeda Fernández as the WZB Visiting Fellow at the Centre from January to June 2027.

Dr Pañeda Fernández’s research focuses on women’s migration in sub-Saharan Africa, exploring the social, political and economic dimensions of migration and mobility. During her six-month fellowship, she will join the European Studies Centre’s research community, contributing to seminars and academic discussions while developing her research.

We look forward to welcoming Irene to Oxford and to continuing our valued collaboration with WZB, which has strengthened academic exchange and international research links between our institutions for many years.
