St Antony’s achieves Gold Green Impact Award for second year in a row

St Antony’s is very proud to have received a Gold Green Impact Award for 2023/24, the second year in a row.

We are delighted to have received Gold accreditation in the national Green Impact scheme. This award recognises the work of our Green Team, led by staff members Nicole Wyatt, Caroline Davies, and Ellen MacDonald.

They have implemented a range of initiatives and events around the College. Our community took part in biodiversity measuring events like the City Nature Challenge and Big Butterfly Count. We also enjoyed making sustainable Christmas decorations together.

In the background, the green team led work to improve recycling signage and donating surplus food, as well as taking actions to reduce energy use.

Now that the College has achieved two gold awards in a row, we can aim for Beyond Gold accreditation. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this year great for sustainability at St Antony’s College.

The Green Team always needs input from staff, students, and fellows. To get involved email the Green Team and look out for future events. The first Green Impact Team meeting of this academic year will be on Tuesday 29 October, 12.00-12.30 in the Buttery.

Environmental Sustainability is a key strategic priority for St Antony’s. Visit our sustainability page to find out more about the plans we have in place.
