Equality and Diversity at St Antony's
The College’s EDI Advisory Board was established in 2020/21, in the wake of the Black Lives Matter and Rhodes Must Fall protests of the summer of 2020. It is entirely external to the College, chaired by Professor Anand Menon (Professor of European Politics, King’s College, London), and with Professor Abena Busia (Ambassador of Ghana to Brazil), and Professor Patricia Daley (Professor of the Human Geography of Africa, University of Oxford) on its membership.
The Board began meeting in September 2021, and has met several times since then: it has reviewed and commented on the equality data held by the College (and is challenging us to gather more); considered data on fair pay by gender and inclusive recruitment; and discussed some of the steps the College should take in terms of training and development. The Chair organised a series of meetings in Trinity Term 2021 with students, Fellows, and staff and the feedback from those discussions has also been taken into account. A further discussion with Governing Body Fellows is planned for January 2023, after which the Board hopes to draw up a workplan for the following 12-24 months.
If you have any comments or feedback for the Committee, please send it to diversity@sant.ox.ac.uk
