AV Instructions

Our lecture theatres and seminar rooms each contain a Windows laptop with Microsoft Office and Adobe Reader installed.

All lecture theatres and seminar rooms have both Eduroam and OWL wireless coverage.

  • Turn on the system. If there is a touch screen or wall plate, use this. If not, use the remote control to turn on the system
  • Check the laptop connection. Details of the type of connection can be found below. Make sure the laptop is connected to the project using either HDMI or VGA
  • Check the laptop power supply is connected
  • Check the laptop wireless connection. Laptops will not automatically connect to the wireless. When using the laptop in one of our seminar rooms or lecture theatres please use your own Eduroam account. If you are a visitor you must obtain an OWL code from the Lodge to connect to our guest wireless
  • Make sure the laptop is set to ‘duplicate’ the display. If you press the Windows logo key and P together a menu will appear on screen to set this
  • Once you have finished using the equipment, turn off the projector. Remember to remove your wireless credentials from the computer – instructions on how to remove your wireless credential

AV information for individual rooms

  • The laptops are stored in cabinets
  • The laptops need to be connected via HDMI or VGA cable to the cabinets projector
  • If using VGA, you must use the supplied 3.5mm plug for audio
  • Internet is via ethernet cable or wireless
  • Projector stored in cabinet
  • Projector connects via VGA and audio is via 3.5mm plug
  • Ethernet cables are available along west and east sides of the Fellows’ Dining Room
  • There is one laptop in cabinet and one projector
  • Laptop is connected via HDMI
  • Additional sound is via 3.5mm plug connected to amplifiers and speakers in the cabinets
  • Laptop connects via HDMI
  • Blu-ray playback available via dedicated player
  • Laptop has a wired internet connection
  • Laptop connects via HDMI to projector (audio is also via the HDMI connection)
  • There is also a VGA connector to connect to projector (if using VGA, the supplied 3.5mm plug must be used for audio)
  • Two laptops in cabinets with ceiling mounted projectors
  • HDMI connections
  • Additional sound via 3.5mm plus to amplifiers and speakers in cabinets
  • Ceiling mounted projector with both HDMI and VGA connections
  • If using VGA, 3.5mm plug must be used for sound
  • Cabled internet available
