Allan Taylor Art and Photography Competition Trinity 2026

We are delighted to launch the Allan Taylor Art and Photography Competition, a new annual initiative celebrating the creativity of our student community and bringing fresh energy into our shared College spaces.

Open to all current students during Trinity Term 2026, the competition invites submissions of original artwork and photography. The shortlisted entries will be displayed in the Hilda Besse Building, and two winners (one in art and one in photography) will be announced at a celebratory High Table dinner. It offers an opportunity not only to showcase creative work, but to shape the visual environment of our College through the ideas and perspectives of those who study and live here.

The competition has been made possible through a generous donation from Allan Taylor, who served as Bursar of St Antony’s from 2001 to 2011. During his tenure, he played a central role in securing the College’s long-term financial stability and ensuring that the management of the College was in the best shape possible. He played a vital part in creating the St Antony’s that we know and love today.

We are proud to establish this competition in his memory. It reflects his lasting contribution to the College by supporting creativity, expression, and community at the heart of St Antony’s life.
