Honorary Fellow

Adam Roberts is an Honorary Fellow of St Antony’s College, where he was Alastair Buchan Reader in International Relations, 1981–6. He is Senior Research Fellow in International Relations, Oxford University, and Emeritus Fellow of Balliol College. He was Montague Burton Professor of International Relations at Oxford University, 1986–2007, and President of the British Academy, 2009–13.  His interests include mountaineering and cycling.

He is the author and editor of numerous articles and books. Joint editor of Documents on the Laws of War, 3rd edn., Oxford University Press, 2000; The United Nations Security Council and War: The Evolution of Thought and Practice since 1945, Oxford University Press, 2008; and Civil Resistance and Power Politics: The Experience of Non-violent Action from Gandhi to the Present, Oxford University Press, 2009. His latest book is Democracy, Sovereignty and Terror: Lakshman Kadirgamar on the Foundations of International Order, I.B.Tauris, London, 2012.
