St Antony’s College is recruiting for an Academic Office Assistant. Working in a small team, you will provide high quality administrative support in key areas throughout the student journey – from new students arriving in college, through assessments, to students completing their course and graduating.
The first point of contact for enquiries to the Academic Office, the Academic Office Assistant provides proactive support to prospective and current students, providing basic advice and guidance in person, via email, and on the phone. You will play a key role in Academic Office administration processes, and assist with the running of Academic Office meetings and events.
To be successful in your application, you will have relevant administrative and customer service experience, and have an awareness of GDPR legislation and an understanding of the importance of discretion in dealing with confidential matters. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to deal confidently with a range of people, and the ability to prioritise and organise your work will be essential.
You will need to work accurately, with excellent attention to detail, and to have strong IT and numeracy skills. You will be a hands-on team player with a flexible approach to your work. Experience of working in the Higher Education sector and of organising events would be advantageous.

Working at St Antony’s College
This is a fixed-term appointment for 2 years to provide additional support within the Academic Office. The post is part-time (0.8 FTE, 28 hours per week).
The office working hours are normally 9.00am to 5.00pm on Mondays to Fridays, with an unpaid hour for lunch each day. The post holder will occasionally be expected to work at weekends and/or evenings. The exact working hours for the post-holder will be agreed with the successful candidate and some flexibility will be possible.
The Academic Office Assistant will be paid on the University grade 4 scale, currently £20,110.40 – £23,007.20 gross p.a. plus £1,200 gross p.a. Oxford weighting. (£25,138 – £28,759 FTE plus £1,500 FTE Oxford weighting).
Time off in lieu will be given for any hours worked in addition to your normal hours when agreed in advance with your line manager.
There is a probationary period of three months.
