Microfilms

The micrfilms collection is complementary to the MEC holding of the published materials.  The strength of the collection is copies of number of rare publications.  Such examples are : Nafir Suriyah/Nafir Suriyah al-Wataniyah, edited by Bustani; and  La Nation Arabe 1930-1938, published in Geneva by the famous Arab activist, Amir Shakib Arslan.
Part of the collection has been acquired from Beirut and Cairo, by the library. In addition, there is a huge collection donated by professor Elie Kedourie. He microfilmed books, manuscripts, archival materials, pamphlets and periodicals from a number of libraries and archives while working on his book : In the Anglo-Arab labyrinth : the McMahon-Husayn correspondence and its interpretations, 1914-1939.
Microfilms offer materials in Arabic, Persian, Turkish, and European languages.  The entire holding is recorded on spread sheet, including separate tab for each language.  The (Elie) Kedourie collection is identified with tabs of that name.
