Microfilms

The microfilms collection is complementary to the MEC holding of the published materials.  The strength of the collection is copies of number of rare publications.  Examples include : Nafir Suriyah/Nafir Suriyah al-Wataniyah, edited by Bustani; and La Nation Arabe 1930-1938, published in Geneva by the famous Arab activist, Amir Shakib Arslan.
Part of the collection has been acquired from Beirut and Cairo, by the Library. In addition, there is a large collection donated by Professor Elie Kedourie. He microfilmed books, manuscripts, archival materials, pamphlets and periodicals from a number of libraries and archives while working on his book : In the Anglo-Arab labyrinth : the McMahon-Husayn correspondence and its interpretations, 1914-1939.
Microfilms offer materials in Arabic, Persian, Turkish, as well as in English and other official languages of Europe. The entire holding is recorded on spreadsheet, including separate tab for each language.  The (Elie) Kedourie collection is identified with tabs of that name.
