Scholarships and Prizes

The Russian and Eurasian Centre offers a range of scholarships and prizes. Find out more about these opportunities:

The Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre is pleased to offer this scholarship, which will be awarded to a graduate student who will commence study on the MPhil in Russian and East European Studies course at St Antony’s in 2025/26. The scholarship of £9,000 per annum for the duration of the course will be awarded according to academic merit.

The Archie Brown and Alex Pravda Scholarship was set up by a small group of Archie’s and Alex’s friends and former students who had the wish to honour two distinguished Emeritus Fellows for their achievements and to show gratitude for what they have done for the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre as well as the College.

Candidates for the Scholarship must have applied by the University’s January 2025 deadline to be eligible for consideration. There is no separate application form and all applicants for the course will automatically be considered. It is helpful if candidates select St Antony’s College in the ‘College choice’ section of the application form, but this is not compulsory. The successful applicant will, however, be expected to accept the offer of a place at St Antony’s as a condition of the award.

For informal enquiries, please contact Richard Ramage, the RESC Administrator and Librarian (richard.ramage@sant.ox.ac.uk).

This scholarship is awarded every two years.
